Tree Removal & Stump Grinding
SAFE · CONVENIENT · AFFORDABLE
We take great pride in safely removing trees from nearly any type of property in the DMV area, including dense urban areas, commercial properties, suburban residences, and construction sites.
Our crews follow the highest safety standards for all tree work, use up-to-date tree removal techniques, and have the specialized equipment needed to get the job done properly.
If you're not sure if your tree should be removed, our experienced arborists can help you make that decision.
Crane Services For Tree Removal
Some trees are either too big or too dangerous for our climbing crews to safely climb and remove with regular methods. Other trees are located too close to buildings or public areas and can't be safely dropped in the available space.
For these trees, we use our specialized crane equipment run by an experienced crane operator. This crane quickly lifts and moves large sections of trees to an area where the tree can be safely cut apart and disposed of.
Using a crane allows us to remove large and dangerous trees while also reducing risks to your property and our crew.
Hazardous Tree Removal
As ISA Certified Arborists, we'd rather use our expertise to preserve your trees than to cut them down. However, there are times when tree removal is the best option. That's why we offer a full range of tree removal services, from quick removal of smaller trees to careful removal of large trees, hazardous trees, and trees in hard-to-access locations.
Whether it's due to storm damage, poor growing conditions, insect infestations, or diseases, trees can become unstable and pose a hazard to people and structures around them. It's important to carefully inspect dangerous trees and determine the best way to remove them while minimizing the risk of damage to anything nearby.
Our ISA Certified Arborists are specially trained to assess hazardous trees and are experienced at safely removing dangerous trees throughout the DMV area.
Stump Grinding
When a tree is cut down, you're left with a tree stump. Many customers choose to have us remove the tree stump when we're finished with a tree removal job.
Stump grinding involves grinding down the stump to approximately 12 inches below the soil surface. We also grind out the tree’s surface roots within three feet of the stump.
After the stump is fully ground, we use the grindings to fill the hole that's left behind by the stump grinding process.

Happy Customers
Robin Marusin | Great Falls, Virginia
“A BIG thanks to Logan Jones and crew! When a tree came down the other night, crashing on top of our neighbor’s car (ugh!). I called Logan and within a couple of hours, they had the tree cut up, hauled away, and everything cleaned up. He was also able to fix our fence, although the car didn’t fare as well. Just a fantastic job!!!!”
Hal Donahue | Fairfax, Virginia
"Sadly, a large white oak died along the edge of our drive and was posing a threat. Riverbend was the first company we called. We have used their lawncare services and seasonal cleanups for nearly five years. They are always professional, prompt, and efficient. Our tree was removed quickly, safely, and with incredible care and safety."
John Newman | Dumfries, VA
“Riverbend recently removed 16 huge 50-year-old white pine trees that surround our house. Every aspect of the job was accomplished by the very highest professional standards. Of the four estimates that we got Logan’s was the most reasonable and comprehensive. The workers were highly skilled, courteous and meticulous in the clean up. This was a 5-star performance by every measure."
